theaboutpage

Hi there, my name is Wayne…yes you probably guessed that from my sites name. :-) i am a 37 year old self taught Adobe obsessive from Staffordshire in the UK.

I have created this site to hopefully help you with the learning curve of the most popular adobe applications with ease. Most of my tutorials are video as opposed to written, that way it will be easier for you to follow along with.
The site it’s self was designed using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop CS, I also used Macromedia Fireworks for some of the graphics design as well.
I was first introduced to Dreamweaver and web design back in 2003 a by an old friend of mine who uses Dreamweaver in his place of work everyday, I soon picked it up and never use anything else for webpage layout, cheers for that Johnny :-)

I have always had a keen interest in technology including the musical side. I remember in the days Before the affordable pc I used to write my own ambient/progressive tracks using an old Atari 1040STE + Cubase 2.5, along with a Akai S2800 sampler, Korg M1, Yamaha TG500, Novation Bass Station, Boss DR-660 drum machine and various other pieces of kit. I composed many tracks but never got around to releasing any…I guess I was to modest. I am considering getting most of my tracks copyrighted so maybe I will upload a couple on here for your listening.

Here are a few pictures of my music setup in the early 90's, I would never have dreamed at the time how music technology would have progressed now with Cubase and its vast range of awesome virtual instruments.

This was my music setup in 1992/1993, Boss DR-660 drum machine, Korg M1 and an awful Akai S01 Sampler.

My Atari, that’s funny…I cant see no dvd burner or usb ports :-)

My setup in 1995, Yamaha TG500, Akai S2800, Novation Bass Station, Soundcraft 18/2 mixing console.

Since the days of the affordable pc I turned my interest more towards the visual side of things. I can remember back in 1998 I had my first Canon UC-X45 HI8 camcorder, I remember I was over the moon with it especially when I discovered it’s built in 8 scene editing machine, WOW, it was only a matter of time though before I went the non linier approach once I got the video editing bug.

In mid 1999 I had my first editing workstation this was a Pentium2 400mhz, 64meg of ram and a 10.2 gig harddrive, all wrapped around a Pinnacle DC-10+ analogue capture card, plus Studio DV v1.06 software this was some monster for its day.
In early 2000 I added a Firewire card, then in the summer of 2001 I updated my 1.06 software for Studio v7.0, this was a huge improvement. I was well into editing by this time but still needed something with more power so I then turned to the awesome Adobe Products which I had touched on briefly.

This is my new workstation, i have always worked on AMD systems in the past, but now do all my work on an Intel P4 3.4 LGA775 system; let’s hope it is just as stable as my old AMD 3.2 Barton.

Since the autumn of 2001 I have shot several weddings and also directed my own short movies with the help of friends. All of my wedding customers have been extremely pleased with my work and have had no hesitation in recommending my services to others. I have produced wedding on VHS cassettes and more recently DVD using Ulead DVD Workshop v1.0 and v2.0, these are both excellent pieces of DVD authoring software but I find they lack the more professional end of Adobe Encore DVD v1.5. I also like the interactivity of Encore DVD and Photoshop CS, just jump to and from each program to create stunning menus….wow!!

I have more recently been able to author DVD’S more professionally using Adobe Encore DVD v1.5 thanks to the help of Doogs and his wonderful website on Adobe Encore DVD tutorials, in my opinion, the best site on the net when it comes to Encore tutorials, thanks Dave.

Here are a few pictures of me out celebrating my 35th birthday party, most of the guys I have known since school days…WOW! Yes…I am really that old ;-).

Ok, well what more can I say now guys and gals? That is all I can think of at the moment, lol.
I hope you did not find this page to boring, thanks for reading.
